CSOC UT AUSTIN

SUMMER INTERNSHIP

FAQs

FAQs

What is the duration of the internship?

The internship will begin on May 19, 2025 with a three day training program and end on July 25, 2025.

What are the expected work hours of an intern?

The total time commitment is 25-35 hours weekly, Mondays-Fridays.

Can I work as a full-time intern if I am taking summer courses?

Taking summer courses during the CSOC Summer Internship would be difficult. We recommend taking no more than one course in the summer to gain the proper experience and mentorship. Attached here is our 2019 schedule that may help in finding classes that complement with the internship.

Is the summer internship paid?

We ask our interns to commit a minimum of two consecutive weeks of full-time participation to be eligible to receive financial support. Full-time interns are eligible to receive a stipend up to $300 weekly.

What if I can only participate part-time?

There is a minimum commitment of two consecutive weeks which will be paid, but we welcome all students to volunteer with us based on their availability. Part time interns are eligible to be reimbursed according to our guidelines which can be asked in our interview process.

How can I find housing in Austin for the summer?

Generally, we are able to help our interns find housing. In addition, we offer a housing stipend of $55 per week for full-time interns to help offset the cost of rent.

What are the incentives for the early application deadline?

If you apply to the CSOC internship before the listed early application deadline and commit to participate full-time in the internship training and Weeks 1-5 (May 27-June 27), we will reimburse your registration at the annual college training (a five-day retreat in Athens, GA).
